Open source software development is a powerful model for developing on software platforms, infrastructure, and applications across many industry verticals. Open source projects, products, or initiatives embrace and celebrate principles of open exchange, collaborative participation, rapid prototyping, transparency, meritocracy, and community-oriented development. Already primed for remote collaboration, open source project communities have proven to be even more valuable for collaboration in the difficulties raised by the COVID-19 pandemic. For our industry in particular, we’ve seen how vital the networks and tools that keep us all connected are to our societies and economies.
Community is at the heart of every open source project and Anuket participants have come together intentionally with an understanding that leveraging a common infrastructure and participating in a global, open source community and ecosystem is the future of network transformation. Open source projects are developed in diverse and geographically dispersed communities that have their own rules, conventions, tools, and processes. Simply put, each community has its own unique culture and it takes time to establish the trust, ways of collaborating, and cultural understanding required to be effective in open source. The Linux Foundation has many resources available to help navigate open source development.
We invite you to join the Anuket community and learn how to get started.
